Run by Master Stewart Armotrading, Future Taekwondo has been
running successfully for over 18 years.
The club is open to all 3 times a week and we always welcome new
starters both novice and experienced alike to take part with us. We
have a solid structure and great staff that allow us to distribute our
time and split the classes according to skill level so that all may
prosper and move forward at their own pace. We offer a weekly intense
Squad only session for those who wish to compete and National and
International Level. Every belt attained at 'Future' carry
Worldwide and Olympic regognition.
Our classes have produced many great achievers, from World Champion
entrants to British and European medalists. We have prduced fighters
for film and television work. We pride ourselves for our great
work ethic and family orientated approach allowing all to feel welcome.
Future Tkd have produced
British Champions in 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08 and 09 and are currently looking to
prepare students for the 2012 Olympic selections.
Master
Stewart Armotrading
Stewart Armotrading is one of Future Tae kwon Do Clubs' two founders.
Stewart took up Tae Kwon Do at the age of 16 and over the years
developed into one of Britain’s’ best known fighters. He held many
National and International titles, including being a British
medalist in 4 weight categories and reigned supreme for 10 years
undefeated in the Berkshire Grand Prix MMA. Stewart also had a natural
teaching ability and combined this with his skill as a fighter to begin
coaching in 1989.
He had to pull out of the ‘fight’ himself in 1996 due to injury,
but has always stayed on the fighter’s circuit coaching his own
Tae kwon do students to the numerous titles they have achieved.
In November 2009 he was recognised as 'Coach of the Year' by the
Mayor of Slough, and in January 2010 he received a prestigious award
from the 'House of Commons' for the work he has done for the young people
of Slough to inspire them to work hard and achieve their goals.
Due to his reputation Stewart has been offered many coaching roles, including:
- Coached the Queens' guards at Knightsbridge
Coached the Welsh National Team
Coached the British National Team
Coached the Irish National Team
Produced over 28 British Champions Produced fighters for film and Television roles
Stewart now teaches 3 times a week at the Local Future Tae Kwon Do School.
Where at any one time you can see at least ten or twelve past and present
British champions, who are often helping out with the newer students.
The training standards are very high which allows the Club to reach children
of all levels. Some will come along one or two nights a week for the discipline
and the fitness. Whilst the ‘Squad’ will train up to four
times a week preparing for competition. No matter what level you are taking
it at, the benefits are great. Tae Kwon do gives you focus, discipline,
understanding, protection, fitness, stress relief and when properly instilled,
a respect for all. Stewarts' 28 years in the Sport has given him an immense
wealth of knowledge, trophies and respect, he is a well liked and respected
member of the community. He has dedicated the last 21 years to the community
and people rely on him to be there for another 21 years. The club also
boasts a strong coaching staff that have all had a minimum of 8 years
coaching experience. Therefore you will be taught by true professionals
Coach Nicholas Boatswain
Nicholas Boatswain (Black Belt) is the assistant Head Coach at the Club.
Nick has had 9 years of coaching experience and is a dedicated member of
staff that has each childs interest at heart. He works the kids well and
adapts quickly to levels of competency, allowing each student to feel they
too can achieve, and they do!
Coach Nicholas Boatswain has trained and coached many students to winning
many National tournaments. NIck helps them maintain this high standard by
positive encouragement and embedding a sense of belief that that they "can
do & Achieve" into them.
With this Nick has trained students helping them not only to win
medals but to maintain medalists positions year after year.
Junior Coaching Staff
The Junior coaching staff are made up of. Shanelle Armotrading (Black
Belt), with 11 years experience and former British and Irish champion
and World Games contender, Lewis Houston (Black Belt) with 9 years
coaching under his belt. and Bradley Abeyta. Winner of numerous
National Championships. Our coaching staff carry CRB (Criminal
Investigation Bureau) Certificates.
Our junior coaching staffs still regularly compete at National and International
level and conduct themselves in a very positive way as to provide good
role models for our younger and upcoming fighters.
Aftab Hussain first took up martial arts
from a young age. Over the years he has continuously devoted himself to the art
of Taekwondo, when others have faded into the past.
He has over 20 years of training experience, and trains with the tenants of
Taekwondo at heart; as taught to him by his master.
This means that his skills range from the traditional aspects of Korean Martial
Arts through to the modern sport of Olympic Taekwondo. He is also keen on the
mental and spiritual side of student development and enjoys covering Korean
terminology, etiquette, history and philosophy.
As well as being registered as a Black Belt at the World Headquarters of
Taekwondo ‘the Kukkiwon’ in South
Korea, he is also a certified Class 3
Referee.
He holds advanced CRB clearance, security vetting; health & safety and
first aid qualifications.
